Abstract—A novel strawberry algorithm (SBA) which is proposed for tuning of parameters of PID controller in the two area multi sources interconnected system which is combination of reheat thermal, hydro and gas turbine power plants. The parameters of controller are optimized using SBA through minimization of Integral of Time multiplied Absolute Error (ITAE). By ancillary flexible ac transmission system (FACTS) like Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) and storage energy device such as Redox Flow Batteries (RFB) are embedded in the proposed system in order to analyze its performance. Comparison of the simulations results of SBA with differential evaluation algorithm (DEA) at loading condition shows that the proposed algorithm greatly performed in damping the tie line oscillation and stabilizing the frequency of the system.
