Abstract—Solar still is the one of the cost effective method of producing pure water using solar distillation techniques. Solar still uses heat energy as input which is obtained from solar radiations. In this paper the condensation and evaporation process in solar still is developed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method, a two phase three dimensional model is developed for simulation. Simulation result is compared with actual experimental data of solar still. There is a good agreement between experimental data and CFD data of fresh water productivity, water temperature and heat transfer coefficients. Study shows that CFD is a powerful tool for the performance analysis of single slope solar still.
