Abstract—To improve the reliability of any system, many tools have been introduced which will increase its possibility to satisfy the application requirements. In this work, an attempt has been made to carry out the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) of Magneto-Rheological (MR) brake to ensure its effectiveness. The Fault tree analysis is a logical, graphical diagram that describes failure modes and causes. The FTA diagram graphically shows all failures for a system, subsystem, assembly, Printed Circuit Board (PCB), or module. The output from the FTA provides a better understanding of the causes that can lead to a failure mode.
